It is preferred but not required, that:
You have Irish heritage, by virtue of an ancestor born in Ireland, OR
You are involved in an Irish organization, OR
You have an interest in the Irish community or culture.
Residency Requirements:
Be a resident of Colorado for a minimum of six months prior to the application deadline - JANUARY 9, 2026 - and agree to be a resident of Colorado for minimum one year if crowned Queen Colleen.
Reign Requirements
You must be available to attend all obligatory Queen Colleen events listed under Queen Colleen and Candidate Event tab.
Your personal appearance, your demeanor, and attire should, at all times, properly represent the family oriented nature of the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”).

Pay Application Fee ($25) and Sponsorship Fee ($230)
Each candidate must pay, in full, the fees prior to the start of the pageant on January 24, 2026. Contestants are encouraged to fundraise or find sponsorship to cover the cost of the entry fee.
Ad Sales
It is requested that each delegate sells one program ad. Program ads will be displayed on the Queen Colleen Page of the DSDPD website, at the pageant, and in the pageant program book.
Small Ad: $50 - Medium Ad $75 - Large Ad $100.
All ads must be submitted by January 10, 2026
Queen Colleen serves as a spokesperson for the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee ("Committee") and attends a variety of events during her reign. The Queen’s Court (first and second runner up) also serves as spokespersons for the Committee and shall be held to the same standards as the Queen Colleen during the Courts’ term. The first runner up will fulfill the duties of the Queen Colleen if she is unable to fulfill her duties and reign.

Additional Events the Queen Colleen & the Queen’s Court are encouraged to attend:
Various media and community appearances during the parade year
Attend DSPDPC events throughout the parade year including General Parade Committee meetings held the 2nd Saturday of each month.
Various community activities throughout the year including, but not limited to partner festivals, parades, or charity events.
The Queen Colleen and Court are expected to present and conduct themselves in a professional manner, and also wear appropriate attire for each event. Attire is modest but modern, whether casual (NEVER jeans), business, or formal, and sashes must be worn on all occasions. The Queen Colleen shall be accompanied by a Queen Colleen Sub-Committee member and/or Committee Board member to all events. This standard is expected for past Queen Colleens’ at all Committee Events, too.

Included with other awards, the Queen Colleen will receive a one-year honorary membership in the Parade Committee. Attendance at Committee meetings is highly encouraged to learn more about the Committee and to network with its members.
Candidates may compete multiple years as long as the age qualification is met. It is recommended to compete more than one year to better understand the judging requirements and dynamics of the selection process, and to gain experience, confidence, and public speaking skills in the process. A candidate may only hold the Queen Colleen title for one year.
In keeping with the attributes desired in the Queen Colleen, please be aware of being tagged in photos that may appear in social networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, X/Twitter, and SnapChat, that may not be considered suitable as a role model. You are encouraged to be conscientious about content and graphics on your personal social media site(s).
Should the Queen Colleen be unable to fulfill her obligations as Queen Colleen she will relinquish her title and crown. Her first runner up will be called upon to fulfill the Queen Colleen reign for the remainder of her term. If the first runner up is unwilling to take on the title, the position will be filled at the discretion of the Queen Colleen Selection Committee.
A Queen Colleen will lose her title by
ANY falsification of required qualifications.
Engaging in illegal activity.
Inappropriate activity unbecoming of a role model for young women (as determined by the QC Sub-Committee Selection Committee).
Unwilling to participate in any of the obligatory events without approval from the Queen Colleen Sub-Committee.
